#JewishResistance: Seder in the Streets!
April 13th
4:15 PM: Opening Program on City Hall steps, followed by brief parade
5:30 PM: Seder Begins at Foley Square (NEW LOCATION)

Our seder will be participatory and will include singing, discussion, ritual, and direct action. JFREJ will provide all the seder fixings (matzoh, maror, etc.). You should pack for a picnic dinner – bring blankets and camping chairs, food to eat and/or share, and a bottle of grape juice to share (no glass bottles – or wine – please!).

In the face of deportations, border walls, hate crimes, religious bigotry and police violence, Pesach is a gift from the very heart of our traditions, giving us the strength to take action and the tools to change our own story. Just when we need it most, it reminds us that we know how to resist oppression and win. We will eat, celebrate, sing and honor our 5777-year history of Jewish Resistance by taking action — demanding that Mayor de Blasio make New York a real Sanctuary City for all of those facing oppression today.
